Breast Screening Programme

03 May 2018
The NHS Breast Screening Programme invites all women aged 50 to 70 for breast screening every three years.

It was announced on 02 May 2018 that Public Health England (PHE) have become aware of a technical issue, which led to some women not being invited for their final screening mammogram between their 68th and 71st birthdays.

PHE is writing to all women registered with a GP who have been affected by this incident. These women will be invited for a catch-up breast screen.

PHE have set up a free national helpline: 0800 169 2692.  Further information is also available on the Public Health England website
