I’ve been a patient myself so I want to make sure they’re getting the best care in this department.

About the ward:

Daphne ward has 19 beds, five of which are used for women who are in and out of hospital on the same day as their surgery.

You may be admitted to Daphne ward for a longer period if you have had surgery relating to any gynaecology specialty and need to stay in hospital overnight or longer.

If you have left hospital with a catheter, you may need to return to us for a trial without catheter (TWOC). We also see women after surgery who need specific types of dressing.

Some women who are experiencing pain and bleeding early in pregnancy are admitted to Daphne ward as emergencies.
