To provide high quality, affordable, efficient and equitable clinical genomic testing to all users.

We aim to achieve this through regular review and improvement of our services, utilising efficient technologies that offer high throughput and high quality.

Accreditation:

The Laboratory is accredited by The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)

 to the recognised international standard ISO 15189:2012 Medical laboratories – Requirements for quality and competence (Ref: 8840)

External Quality Assessment:

The Laboratory participates in relevant external quality assessments (EQA) provided by GenQA  (formerly UKNEQAS for Molecular Genetics and CEQAS) and EMQN

 

Compliments and complaints:

We welcome feedback about our service, whether good or bad, so as we can continue to improve and provide a service that meets our users’ needs. In addition we carry out regular user surveys, which are sent electronically to our users. Any complaints are investigated thoroughly and plans put in place to make improvements, as required. Feedback is welcomed either by email to the Laboratory  or via forms available on the Compliments and Complaints section of the Trust’s website.

The Laboratory and the Trust comply with the Data Protection Act, and take all possible care to maintain confidentiality and security of personal data. Further details are available on the Trust’s website.
