We have a number of volunteers working in cancer services.

Volunteers are a key part of the cancer services department and help in many different ways. In 2018 alone, our Macmillan Service volunteers donated 1632 hours of their time supporting work in this area of the hospital, and seeing over 1000 patients between April and December.

Some of these volunteers work in the Macmillan Information Service, providing information to patients and signposting to other services, whilst others help patients find where they need to get too, and can provide a listening ear to people who wish to talk.

If you are interested in learning more about the role of the volunteers, or if you would like any further information on volunteering, please contact voluntary services on 01223 586616 or email volunteer@addenbrookes.nhs.uk.

Patients and carers can also volunteer to become a member of the Cancer Patient Partnership Group, a group which works with patients and staff to improve cancer services within Addenbrooke’s.
There’s no regular commitment and patients can feedback their views by email if preferred. For more information see Addenbrooke’s Cancer Patient Partnership Group.
