Give back, become a Governor ...
Lorne Williamson
Public Governor

Lorne Williamson was re-elected in July 2017. He previously gained re-election in 2014, also serving as a Governor from 2008 to 2011 and was Chair of the Governance committee.

His NHS experience includes being a non exec director of Cambridge City PCT, CEO of Tower Hamlets District Health Authority and The Royal London Hospital, and District General Manager of Brent HA. He has also been treated for prostate cancer at Addenbrooke’s. He has an admiration for the NHS and its staff but that will not prevent his natural questioning nature from being silenced when presented with waffle or inadequate answers. He also believes that humour is good for both health and committees!

He holds an economics degree from Cambridge, is a qualified (but lapsed) accountant and has been a Trustee of Wallace Cancer Care and The Pioneer Health Foundation.

Prior work experience includes central banking, engineering, hospital equipment and medical device manufacture. Since moving to Cambridge in 1992 he has been involved in horticulture, construction design and start-up technology businesses. Leisure activities include active participation in golf, Real Tennis, the Cambridge Camera Club and a large family – fifteen grandchildren on three continents.
