Laura Minter
Patient Governor

Laura Minter was elected as Patient Governor in July 2017. She had spent most of the previous year at Addenbrookes while her daughter was an in-patient following multi-visceral transplant surgery in

March 2016. Laura is very grateful to the highly skilled clinicians who have supported her daughter through many difficult times, saving her life on more than one occasion.

While supporting her daughter during her extended in-patient stay, Laura has observed the Trust at all hours of the day and night and all days of the week. Through this she has viewed many specialties providing useful insight for her role as patient governor.

In 2014 Laura retired from a lifelong career in Information Technology and Operations Management in a variety of settings including Healthcare and Laboratories. She personally directed system projects at large hospital trusts communicating and working with clients and technicians at all levels. 'Continuous Improvement' was always her mantra in business and she is keen to make a contribution to such initiatives at the Trust. Laura believes it is crucial to listen to both the staff and patients in order to improve performance.
