Dancing for health

10:58 to 14:58
Professional dancers are working alongside nursing staff on four different wards at CUH to offer dance activities for patients.

Dancing to help recovery These sessions are shaped around the capacity of patients themselves and are a relaxed way of stimulating movement to music. Patients have been responding incredibly positively and the sessions are being evaluated for their impact on falls prevention, mood and communication and engagement with staff and relatives.

At the Open Day we will be offering a window into these dance sessions so you can see how they work, experience the impact of dance on the body and on mood, and think about how you might incorporate dance into your own life!

Sessions run as below. You can either choose to attend just one of the sessions or combine a talk and a practical session.

Practical session: 11:00-12:00
Talk: 12:30-13:30
Practical session: 14:00-15:00

Location: the Deakin Centre, level 1, the Jubilee Room
